FAQsAnswers to some of the most commonly asked questions.
Do I need to ‘get in shape’ before I start your classes and is it safe?
A common misunderstanding is that you need to be ‘in shape’ before starting any martial arts training. This is completely false. Our classes are designed to allow our members to train ‘at their own pace’ while at the same time, giving the advanced student the opportunity to challenge themselves. We are proud to say that injures are far and few between and when there is one it is the same as any injury you would get from any fitness program or activity.
Is there any physical contact in class?
There is NO physical contact in our Fitness Kickboxing program. In some of our classes you will be hitting the heavy bag as you wear special boxing gloves. We make sure that the bags do not hit you back.
Will your classes help me tone up?
The combination of cardio, resistance training and proper diet will help you to tone up very quickly.
Do I need experience and is it hard to learn?
No experience is necessary and the learning curve is very quick. If you feel you would like more one on one coaching private lessons can be purchased at the front desk.
What do I wear and do I need any gear?
Wear whatever you are comfortable working out. Bare foot or indoor shoes, your choice. We have matted floors for safety and comfort. You will need a pair of bag gloves to prevent injury and promote intensity.
Will there be other beginners in my class?
Absolutely, there are always beginners in class. Plus, the advanced students are always eager to help you get you on your way!
How many people are in a class?
Classes will range between 10-20 people. The larger the class, the more energy in the room.
How many classes per week should I attend?
We have up to 9 classes running 6 days a week so the amount of classes you take is based on your own personal schedule. Most of our members train about 1-3 times per week and see great results.
Can I bring a friend?
You are more than welcome to bring a friend to start the introductory offer with you. When you become a member you are welcome to bring new friends to come and try out a free lesson or kickboxing class.
Where are your classes located?
2243 Leckie Rd. Kelowna. Near the corner of Dilworth and Leckie. Beside Kal Tire and across from Rusty’s Steakhouse.
